The key to avoiding any holiday accident is to stay vigilant.

Vacations are an occasion to spend time with family and friends. Many people take trips close to home, others travel abroad. It is important to remember that you are no longer in your home surroundings. You should learn about any differences that might create an incident and give rise to an accident abroad. One example of this is driving. Drivers in the United States and other venues keep to the right side of the road. In England and other British areas people drive on the left side. Since most people are creatures of habit, they will, without thinking travel on the wrong side when in a foreign venue. This could result in injury or death. This is an extreme example of a holiday accident. Less common injuries can also be avoided with common sense. On vacation, many people go to the beach or swimming. Make sure to account for children as some of these venues are large and they are always unfamiliar to adults, let alone children who can get lost or hurt. Keep watch over any children and even adults when they go swimming to avoid undertows and other dangers. The key to avoiding any holiday accident is to stay vigilant.
